Fugue State 1986

Logline
Fugue State 1986 is the story of a war veteran obsessed with the power of words, and a young aspiring writer who becomes so immersed in fiction that he begins to confuse it with reality. Inspired by the most brutal massacre committed by a single man in Colombia.
Synopsis
Inspired by the Pozzetto restaurant massacre that took place in Bogotá in 1986, Fugue State 1986 tells the story of a friendship that turns into a nightmare. León, a young literature student, discovers that his friend and mentor, Jeremías, was behind the mass killing. But León has no memory of the days leading up to the crime—or how involved he might have been. As he tries to piece together what happened, he descends into the labyrinth of the killer’s mind and is forced to confront his own. A haunting story about the fragility of reason, the allure of evil, and the invisible threads that can bind a writer to a murderer.
