Logline

After the death of an unknown uncle, a woman inherits a burial ground and finds herself in the center of a string of murders and dark secrets.

Synopsis

Yoon Seo-ha is a college lecturer who hopes to upgrade her hourly status to a faculty position as an appointed professor. One day, she is told that a long-forgotten paternal uncle has died, leaving her as the sole heir to the family’s burial ground. The news takes Seo-ha by surprise, and it is also an unpleasant reminder of her father who abandoned her and her mother long ago. At the uncle’s funeral, Kim Young-ho, Seo-ha’s half-brother, shows up and causes a commotion demanding that he should be included in the inheritance. To Seo-ha, he’s the son of an unfaithful father who left home, and the whole business of inheriting the burial ground triggers an influx of painful memories she’d rather forget. To make things worse, a series of ominous events unfold, enveloping her with an overwhelming sense of unease. Meanwhile, Choi Sung-jun, a police detective investigating a murder case in the village, instinctively realizes from the villagers’ odd behavior that it is not a simple case of manslaughter. He delves into the case, which proves to be quite elusive with many dead ends. Park Sang-min, the chief inspector, disapproves of Sung-jun and excludes him from the case. But Sang-min’s investigation that focused on key persons surrounding the burial ground, including Seo-ha and Young-ho, also leads nowhere. Soon, another murder occurs, and the village is turned upside down.

Bizarre incidents surround Seo-ha upon inheriting the family burial ground.
