Netflix ISP Speed Index for November 2017
Here are some highlights from the November data for the Netflix ISP Speed Index, our monthly update on which Internet Service Providers (ISPs) provide the best primetime Netflix streaming experience.
The largest speed gains in November were experienced by South Korea’s D LIVE and Mexico’s Axtel Acceso Universal. D LIVE had the largest gain on the index this month with an increase of 0.82 Megabits per second (Mbps), bringing its monthly average to 2.34 Mbps from 1.52 Mbps in October. Axtel Acceso Universal in Mexico followed, with speeds climbing to 1.44 Mbps, up from 0.98 Mbps the month prior.
Taiwan rose six spots to 28th in our country rankings, bolstered by notable speed gains:
- FarEasTone’s speeds increased by 0.42 Mbps. Its average monthly speed jumped to 3.04 Mbps, up from 2.62 Mbps in October.
- TFN’s speeds gained by 0.39 Mbps, with its monthly average increasing to 3.31 Mbps, up from 2.92 Mbps last month.
- KBro saw its average monthly climb to 3.39 Mbps, up from 3.01 Mbps last month.
- Taiwan Mobile’s average monthly speed increased to 2.54 Mbps, up from 2.17 Mbps in October.
In Greece, OTE saw speeds gain by 0.33 Mbps, increasing its average monthly speed to 3.38 Mbps, up from 3.05 Mbps the month prior. This helped Greece rise eight spots to 31st in our country rankings.
In losses this month, Mobily in Saudi Arabia saw speeds slow to 2.68 Mbps (from 3.16 Mbps in October), while Internux in Indonesia’s speeds decreased to 1.57 Mbps (from 2.16 Mbps in October).
The Netflix ISP Speed Index is a measure of primetime Netflix performance on a particular ISP and not a measure of overall performance for other services/data that may travel across the specific ISP network.
