Netflix ISP Speed Index for June 2018
Here are some highlights from the June data for the Netflix ISP Speed Index, our monthly update on which Internet Service Providers (ISPs) provide the best primetime Netflix streaming experience.
The largest speed gain on the index this month was experienced by SK Broadband in South Korea. For the month of June, SK Broadband’s speeds increased by 0.78 Megabits per second (Mbps), bringing its average monthly speed to 2.85 Mbps, up from 2.07 Mbps in May.
In Indonesia, speed gains continued for Internux for a second month in a row by 0.69 Mbps. This brought its average monthly speed to 2.46 Mbps, up from 1.77 Mbps last month. Infokom’s speeds also increased to a 3.12 Mbps monthly average, up from 2.89 Mbps in May.
Speeds at Gulfnet and Zajil Telecom in Kuwait also climbed this month. Gulfnet increased its speeds to a 2.43 Mbps monthly average (up from 1.96 Mbps in May) and Zajil Telecom saw speeds climb to a 3.05 Mbps monthly average (up from 2.81 Mbps in May).
In our country rankings, Australia rose six spots to 14th and Austria fell four spots to 17th. There were no significant speed losses this month.
The Netflix ISP Speed Index is a measure of primetime Netflix performance on a particular ISP and not a measure of overall performance for other services/data that may travel across the specific ISP network.
